Since the beginning, Church invites all believers to contribute to its mission of evangelizing all people. All, are invited even the youth are called to donate.
Tithing is a committed contribution to your community. It needs to be made periodically, usually once a week or once a month, according to the conditions of each person. It is an exercise of giving and sharing, in which the Catholic Community is available to take care of the religious, the social and the missionary dimensions of the Church.
On the other hand, the Offering, goes beyond tithing, it is a non-binding contribution/free contribution which we can make at our Parish or at any church, without necessarily having a commitment. In addition to the financial contribution, it can also be made through the donation of food, professional labor, materials, or a specific donation for specific needs. The intention of the person who makes a donation must always be respected. It is an extra donation, which we can make spontaneously to help our Parish and even the most needy brothers and sisters who attend our community.
The offertory is the propitious moment when the faithful can demonstrate their participation and commitment, as they present the fruits of their work.
In the past, the people themselves brought the fruit of their work from their homes to offer to God. Today, one of the ways to present the fruits of our work is made through a money offering. In this way, we have the opportunity to unite our offering, our sacrifices with the offering and the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who gives us His Body and Blood.
